And something from Mr. Kahn

Remember to catalog, visualize, and compose that data you have collected in compelling manner but most importantly use the data to create your own story, your own research.

"The measurable is only a servant of the immeasurable."

(Louis I. Kahn)

Graphic Layout

As you are now nearing the end of the research work you should begin to finalize your material and compose it within the required A1 board format. Test print portions of your boards at regular intervals in order to test your colours, lineweights, text size, image size and resolution, etc.

For inspiration you can have  look at this short intro to fundamental principles of graphic layout. You can also have a look at the work of Swedish typographer Marcus Gärde. And for graphic layouts dealing with architecture and design, there is the Dutch graphic designer Joost Grootens (his new site, old site, and in particular his atlases) as well as the influential body of work of Lars Müller Publishers.

Research Course_DAV Workshop Photos

Great work with the DAV workshop, or more precisely 7 mini workshops customized to each group's theme. Here you can find some sporadic photos from the process.
